Prospective Chairman and Chief Investment Officer
Miller Value Partners
Bill Miller IV is the portfolio manager of the Miller Income Fund and the prospective Chairman and CIO of Miller Value Partners. He started buying Bitcoin personally in 2013 and has been adding to his position ever since. He authored the piece, “The Value Investor’s Case for… Bitcoin?!” in 2015, when he was among the first to consider Bitcoin’s potential in relation to the total outstanding supply of various fiat currencies. One of his most popular shareholder letters was, “MicroStrategy and Bitcoin: the Mother of All Fat Tails?” in which he logically rebutted all of the arguments against Bitcoin while explaining the rationale for buying MicroStrategy’s 0.75% ’25 convertible debt offering, making him among the first institutional investors to buy a security funding the purchase of Bitcoin. Bill has appeared in a variety of financial industry events and media, including CNBC, where he enjoys talking about the investment case for Bitcoin. He graduated from Tufts University (Phi Beta Kappa), earned his MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, and he is a CMT and CFA charterholder. He flies the flag daily with Bitcoin-related license plates, clothes and personal accountability.
