Barefoot Mining

Bob Burnett is a technologist and entrepreneur with over 35 years of experience in tech-related companies.  He spent thirteen years at Gateway, Inc. in a variety of management positions including Chief Technology Officer, Executive Vice President of Products and Executive Vice President of International Markets.  During his tenure at Gateway, he managed a multi-billion-dollar P&L center and led the company’s expansion into areas such as laptop computers, plasma TVs, digital cameras, and MP3 players.  Earlier in his career he worked for Zenith Electronics where he held various engineering and marketing roles including being a member of the development team for the world’s first true laptop computer.

Since leaving Gateway, Bob has also founded or co-founded over 15 companies. Among these are Divvy Systems which acts as the US distributor and service provider for Bitfury’s Bitcoin mining servers, and Barefoot Mining which owns and operates several hosting centers in South Dakota, Nebraska, and South Carolina. He serves as CEO of both Divvy Systems and Barefoot Mining.

Bob also is an evangelist and educator for monetary reform and Bitcoin’s importance to the world’s future. His speaking and teaching include regular engagements at the Florida Gulf Coast University School of Business and the Center for Critical Thinking.  He has a degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee, is an ardent student of Austrian economics, and holds eight US patents.
