Amsterdam the city of bikes and freedom. Rent a bike and don’t forget to ring the bell as you make your way through the organised chaos.
Food and beverages will be available for purchase throughout the conference, which you can buy with bitcoin on lightning network or credit card. Please note, no outside food or beverage is allowed on campus.
Everything at Bitcoin Amsterdam will be Lightning enabled, so download your favorite lightning wallet and top it off with what you plan to use at the conference for food, drinks, merchandise and activations. While this is a Bitcoin conference, we don't recommend bringing large amounts of bitcoin along for the ride. Unfortunately, there will probably be bad actors at this event (they're everywhere), whose sole purpose is to steal your hard-earned BTC.
This is a Bitcoin only conference and the largest of its kind in Europe. Please stay focused and on topic at the event. Save conversations about other protocols and cryptocurrencies for outside the conference.
We don't recommend bringing large bags or backpacks to the event, as all bags will be checked by security before entering the venue. Only clear bags are allowed at Sound Money Fest.
With a large crowd, at peak times there might be lines for registration, food and drinks. We’ve learned a lot from past Bitcoin Conferences and anticipate smooth queues throughout the conference, but if congestion occasionally arises, we greatly appreciate your patience.
If you’re drunk and unorderly, security will kindly ask you to leave the premises. Your ticket will not be refunded.
... but of course it's Holland, so bring an Umbrella! 😉
Dress casual on main conference days: denim, t-shirts, sweats, tanks... all acceptable. You can wear a suit if you really want to, but people will ask you if you’re lost. Reserve your merch and get a 15% discount here.
Enjoy a scenic 90 minute boat ride around the city with Bitcoin Amsterdam attendees included with your conference ticket, sponsored by Ledn. Reserve your spot here!
There are many official and verified events surrounding Bitcoin Amsterdam. Check out our Bitcoin Week for more information.
Bitcoin Amsterdam will have attendees of all ages. Please be mindful of those around you! Additionally, please be thoughtful of photography and use of cellphone cameras, as not everyone will want to be included in photos. If you're extremely interested in preserving your privacy throughout the conference, we suggest the use of a privacy preserving mask.
Amsterdam is beautiful to see from the canals. Rent a boat or join an organised tour.
Of course, Rembrandtplein is named after the famous Dutch master painter, Rembrandt van Rijn, creator of works such as the Night Watch, and in the middle of the square you can find a large statue of the man, gazing down on the late night revellers with a rather thoughtful expression. Rembrandtplein is one of the busiest squares in the city of Amsterdam. At least when it comes to nightlife and clubbing.
The most famous and most central is the Vondelpark. You can cycle through it beautifully or enjoy a picnic. Take an exit to the Museumplein. There is often something to do!
Do you want to see the work of dutch masters? Take a museum visit to the Rijksmuseum. Modern art can be found in the Stedelijk Museum and in the Van Gogh Museum you will find the largest collection by this master.
In the middle of Amsterdam, the Leidseplein is bustling with many bars, restaurants, clubs and theaters.
From brothels to sexshops to museums, the Amsterdam Red Light District has it all. But contrary to what a lot of people might think, the Amsterdam Red Light District has a very friendly atmosphere and isn’t as dangerous as it used to be.
