EVENTS PRIVACY POLICY

Online registration for events requires data collection.

When you register electronically for a BTC Media (BTC) event, your personal data will be collected and processed for the limited purposes described below. Please read and be sure you fully understand how your personal data will be used and protected by our company.

All BTC events operations, including our events data processing, are under the supervision of our Head of Media.

The purpose of our data collection and processing.

We use the personal data you enter upon registering to effectively manage and organize our event. This includes management of lists for invitations, reports, meeting planning and follow-up, distribution of news and publications, and satisfaction surveys. This includes information filled out in the Business 2 Bitcoin application.

We also collect photos, video and audio during the event to distribute information on the event and create awareness about any and/or all of our events.

BTC may use your personal data to contact you with newsletters, marketing or promotional materials and other information from our company

Some of your information may also be distributed on a limited basis to event sponsors for the purposes of planning and promotion. If you wish to opt out of this use of your data, you may do so by emailing contact@btcmedia.org.

Exactly what data is collected and processed?

Registration data collected from you is limited to any or all of the following: name, title, name of your organization, email address, postal address, country where your organization or you are based, profession, job title, phone number and fax number.

.Photographic, audio and video recordings are made at our events of speakers and participants. Members of the public who attend may also be recorded. This material is reproduced in publications, on our website, on social media and to the press for the purpose of distributing information and increasing awareness of the event.

If you do not want your image or voice recorded or published for any compelling and legitimate reason, please let conference organizers know when you check in at the event.

Who has access to your personal data?

Your personal data will be collected and processed only by BTC staff and approved contractors directly involved in the organization and management of our events.

A list of event participants that includes title, first and last name, organization/company and location may be distributed to selected event sponsors. Should you wish your data to be withheld from such lists, you may opt out by emailing contact@btcmedia.org. Email addresses are collected for communication between attendees and event management, as described above. Email addresses are not shared with sponsors or partners.

Occasionally, our sponsors will request your personal data in connection with their sponsorship, including for giveaways and other promotions. You will be asked for your explicit consent prior to your personal data being shared with a sponsor.

How your information is protected.


All personal data collected by BTC is internally processed only by designated staff members or agents and stored on servers that abide by best-practice security rules and standards.

Any external contractors working in organizing BTC events must guarantee the protection, security and confidentiality of data stored on computers used by contractors acting as processors.

Your data is shared with service providers and/or external contractors only for institutional purposes related to the organization of the event, and only when approved privacy safeguards are in place.

A list of event registrants may be shared with law enforcement authorities if required by law, but only upon specific request justified by conference security-related matters.

Changes to this privacy policy.

This privacy policy is effective as of May 20, 2019 and will remain in effect except with regard to any changes made in the future which will be in effect immediately after being posted on this page. BTC reserves the right to update or change our privacy policies at any time and you should check this privacy policy periodically. Your continued use of our events page and participation in our event after we post any modifications to the privacy policy on this page will constitute your acknowledgement of the modifications and your consent to abide by and be bound by the modified privacy policy.
