Sal Strom is a multimedia artist with a focus on painting and social interactive projects. Strom creates colorful, energetic, social-political artwork uniting people of diverse ethnicity and gender. She received her Masters of Fine Art from Massachusetts College of Art. She also studied at Studio Art Center International in Florence, Italy, Cornish College of Art in Seattle, and Dartington Hall in England. Strom was awarded a 2017 Ford Foundation Grant; previous grants have included Meyer Memorial Trust, the Regional Art and Cultural Council and more. Some of the fellowships she has been awarded include; PLAYA Summer Lake, OR; I-Park, CT; Horned Dorset Colony, NY; Hungarian Multicultural Center; Virginia Center for the Creative Arts; and the Santa Fe Art Institute. Strom has been included in more than 50 art shows in the US and internationally. These art shows include; Frye Museum, Maryhill Museum, Provincetown Art Museum, Humberston Edwards Fine Art in Canada, East/West Gallery, and Vigado Gallery in Hungary.
