Operational Risk & Control Manager

The successful candidate will report to the Chief Risk Officer.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Leading the implementation and management of operational risk management programs for the Bitstamp Group
• Colaboration with process owners to facilitate appropriate management and control of operational risks. Support of creation of risk management tools and techniques
• Coordination with third-party business owners to implement appropriate outsourcing oversight
• Support of ongoing third-party vendor assessments
• Leading the operational risk team in monitoring activities to minimize exposure to operational risk, outsourcing risk and fraud risk
• Participation in development of key risk and early warning indicators and monitoring
• Participation in development of fraud monitoring and reporting
• Reporting of findings to the management and recommends appropriate mitigating actions, as well as implementation timescales
• Driving a risk-aware culture, ensures efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to standards and processes

Required qualifications, skills and experience:

• 5+ years of experience in risk management
• Strong experience in team management
• Good understanding of the applicable regulatory framework
• Strong knowledge of operational risk and process control
• Knowledge of outsourcing control and monitoring
• Ability to operate independently & Tolerance for ambiguity
• Good communication and presentation skills
• Fluency in English language
• Knowledge of the blockchain and virtual currency environment is an asset
