The Lightning Network Track challenges participants to innovate on the Lightning Network, facilitating faster, cheaper, and more efficient Bitcoin transactions. Developers are invited to build advanced Lightning wallets, merchant payment solutions, micropayments platforms, cross-border remittance services, and more. The focus is on enhancing user experience, optimizing payment routing, and creating new business models leveraging the Lightning Network's capabilities. Participants should showcase how their projects can provide seamless, low-cost transactions, enable new use cases, and improve the overall adoption and functionality of the Lightning Network.
Participants in the sidechain track are tasked with developing innovative solutions leveraging Bitcoin's sidechain technologies to enhance scalability and usability. The challenge encourages participants to explore domains such as scalable payment systems, interoperable tools, real-world asset tokenization (RWA), decentralized exchanges, loyalty applications, decentralized physical infrastructure networks (DEPIN), and more. Projects should demonstrate how sidechain solutions can handle high transaction volumes, reduce fees, and improve user experiences while maintaining Bitcoin's security and decentralization.
The Bitcoin Propaganda Track invites participants to create compelling content that promotes Bitcoin and its potential impact. This track is open to creative individuals and teams who can craft commercials or memes for campaigns that highlight the world of Bitcoin. Projects should aim to inspire and mobilize a broader audience to embrace Bitcoin.

The B24 Bitcoin Hackathon is divided into 3 tracks: one being the Lightning Network, the second being Layer 2 Solutions, and the third a Bitcoin propaganda track for those who aren't coders. Participants can form teams and submit their projects via Devpost starting June 3rd (Hackathon begins). The last day to submit a project is July 12th (Hackathon ends).
B24 Games is a virtual hackathon spanning from June 3rd to July 12th and invites individuals or teams to develop innovative Lightning Network, Layer II, and Bitcoin propaganda solutions remotely, focusing on specific challenges within a designated theme. This hackathon is open to anyone located anywhere in the world. The top three projects will earn the opportunity to be awarded at the B24 Conference in Nashville, offering valuable exposure and networking possibilities. Throughout the hackathon, participants can access mentorship, check-ins, and the chance to win prizes, all while contributing to Bitcoin.
Projects are evaluated on 7 criteria. For each criterion, judges can give a score between 0-10. The scores will then be averaged out and summed up to give each project a total score out of 70. Projects are then ranked on a leaderboard and given prizes accordingly.
Makers can submit no-code projects, particularly design prototypes. Not being able to code should not dissuade you from entering the tournament, especially since we have some design awards on offer! However, the judging criteria will favor projects which have been successfully executed, including code.
You can see a list of makers who are open to connect in our Hackathon Channels on Telegram or Discord. You can also search for projects that are looking to recruit members.
Yes, we do! We host weekly office hours where participants can ask questions and receive assistance.
We want to encourage people to build in public and share their journey with the community. Projects which submit weekly reports showing their progress during the tournament will score highly in Transparency, one of the core judging criteria.
Yes, makers can submit multiple projects. However, we encourage makers to focus on quality rather than quantity.
